Our story began back in 1996 when I had been “challenged” by a training student of mine regarding smaller dogs vs. larger dogs.  At the time I had only trained Doberman Pinschers. 

 

I began thinking about a smaller breed, one that compliments our lives with Dobermans but also had unique qualities that differentiated them.  Having owned a Border Collie mix previously, they were high on my list.
